Mgr-Robichaud Public Library

Mgr-Robichaud Public Library

In September of 1981, a committee was formed for the purpose of establishing a public library in our community. The Beresford Public Library was officially opened on April 11, 1983; on April 14, 1985 it was renamed "Bibliothèque publique Mgr-Robichaud » in honour of Monsignor Donat Robichaud, an historian and writer who was curate of the Holy Name of Jesus parish from 1971 to 1987.

Although there is no fee for the many services provided by public libraries, a membership card is requiring when borrowing documents. This card can be obtained from any public library and it is valid throughout the province.

In addition to book loans, the Beresford library provides many other services such as large print books, newspapers, magazines, audio and video cassettes, DVD, inter-library loans, photocopies, television and VCR, access to computers and the internet, online searches vision@gnb.ca and meeting and study rooms. Various activities are offered such as babysitting courses, conferences, exhibitions, reading club, story time, arts and crafts, and book releases.
